MotoGP star Francesco Bagnaia expressed feeling a sense of “relief” after Friday practice at the Italian Grand Prix. Starting the day eighth in FP1, he rose to second during the official practice session at Mugello, trailing KTM’s Maverick Vinales by just over a tenth of a second. Despite a disappointing start to the 2025 campaign, being third in the championship, Bagnaia is 93 points behind leader Marc Marquez, his new team-mate. While struggling with a nervous bike in the morning and a quickly degrading rear tire in the afternoon, Bagnaia found solace when switching to a new soft tire, regaining his standard feeling at Mugello. Though appearing displeased during a late practice run, he clarified that his gestures were simply due to running out of fuel, expressing a desire to complete the lap despite the setback.
